The negatives I have are: Grossology exhibit was really loud and some items weren't working. My toddler enjoyed the 4D Turtle Movie, the Cloud Ring, Tornado, Pinwall, the Magnetic Pipes, oh and playing volleyball with mom and dad. A child needs to be able to read and comprehend or would loose interest. I would not recommend this place for toddlers. However, the real point of the place is to entertain children in a more constructive way than Disney and that they do very very well.įREE for Bank of America card holders on the first weekend of the month (except Sundays) I have been wanting to go, but didn't like the price $13 Adult, $10 Child plus $4 parking so I have waiting for a good deal. The 4D movie is like all American films aimed at children - it is very heavy on the 'save the world' issue and less on what you can do yourself in a little way. We ended up on the grass in the car park. Also, there is no specific picnic site - only the "Taco Bell patio". She answered questions and gave information based she thought she wanted to hear not what she did hear. My two 'complaints' were that the tickets sales girl did not listen to our questions and kept turning away from the microphone. However really got the attention of the children and they would have happily stayed for hours longer that we did. The children (aged 12, 10 and 5) had a great time doing a whole variety of things and giving the parents some well earned rest! The regular exhibits were very good, although a couple were not working properly. We spotted this science centre on Google maps and thought we would give it a go. My 2 year old liked the Vortex, the older ones like the Dino Quest the most. Totally NOT worth the extra 3 bucks! My 2 year old got bored after about 4 hours so we had to leave, the 9 and 12 year olds could have stayed all day, just leave the Droid or iPhone in the car. I would skip the 4D turtle movie as it's a Green Peace type propaganda piece that somehow made off the cutting room floor. My first impression of the ginger bread house exhibition was they don't belong in a science center, but the kids liked every bit of it, so I was cool with it. My kids did the Dino Quest in the rain and loved it. The Dino Quest is outside so if it's raining, your kids will get wet. ![]() Fun enough to just walk with your kid while they do the searching. I may add the Dino Quest ticket for the kids if they want, but not for me or my wife. Next time we will just pay for general admission tickets with a AAA discount. It was definitely a waste of $61 in my opinion. I will not be returning to the Discovery Science Center again. It's just too bad that my boys weren't able to experience it all. They have a vast array of interactive stations that show everything from the human body/skeletons to earthquake simulation to dinosaurs to a wind tunnel. All of that being had the potential of being a great learning experience. It was miserable and because my older son couldn't really see the screen.we left the movie. I get why airlines overbook.I do not understand why the Discovery Science Center oversold the movie times. We purchased tickets to the 4D movie and arrived for our viewing time (1:15pm) and there was only 1 seat available! We had 3 tickets.so I had to sit and have one of my son's on one knee & my other son on my other knee. Most parents were hands-off and it seemed as though that behavior was expected and there was no leadership available in the Center to assist with helping change that atmosphere. So you are constantly telling children that there is a line and that you were next. There was no management or employee assistance when it came to enforcing or creating queue lines for the children/parents to see/interact/experience any of the things to see. ![]() As I was trying to teach my four year old to wait his turn and be respectful of smaller children - a larger child would, literally, come and shove a child to the ground to get at a game/station (I saw this happen three times). Another review indicated the ticket/admission process was broken.IT IS! We waited in line for 20 minutes and there were only 8 families in front of us.strangely.our transaction only took about 30 seconds. I thought that was a great analogy after visiting. One of the reviews described the Center as a Casino for kids. Before taking my sons there I did read several of the reviews but.I've been driving past this Center for close to 16 years and couldn't resist taking them.finally.
